NEW YORK STATE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE

Dear fellow Lodge member,

At approximately 1445hrs December 20, 2014 two members of our NYPD Family assigned to the 84 Pct., were protecting the residents at the Tompkins Houses in the confines of the 79 Pct. They were In Uniform and seated in a parked Marked RMP. Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were Stalked, Ambushed and Brutally Assassinated by a lone gunman

Officers Ramos and Liu are the most recent victims of police ambush and murder. It has happened before, however, I can't recall a time when our mayor viciously undermined public support of the law enforcement community. We are all painfully aware of the current negative political atmosphere and lack of support for the police.

This assault on Law Enforcement is demonstrative of the fact that we must stand together in support of members of Law Enforcement everywhere. Please pray for the souls of officers Liu and Ramos as well as their families. Included below are a few of the recent statements released by the PBA, SBA and LBA. Also included is a statement from National FOP President Chuck Canterbury.

A Chief of Department memo regarding speaking to the media is also included, active members FYI.

The lodge secretary will be sending a wreath to the 84 Pct. You will be notified via email regarding funeral arrangements so that you may attend in support of our fallen brethren.

Fraternally,

Rick Bermudez
President, NYS FOP Memorial Lodge 100

In Memoriam of Anthony “Tony A-Z” Mangiaracina

Past President 1998 - 2001

After putting up a strong battle to overcome his sickness, as a result of volunteering his time and services at the World Trade Center after 9-11, Tony was put to rest on September 10, 2012. On behalf of our lodge we wish to thank Tony.  To his wife Rita, his children, grandchildren and the rest of the Mangiaracina family, you have our heartfelt condolences. Rest assured, as long as one of us is alive that knew Tony, he will always be in our memory and never forgotten.
